Re-Act

Photography - Niklas Ottander

Re-Act is an acoustic program for EKKI MINNA’s unique instrumentation: accordion and cello. The duo emphasises framing and visual narrative in their curated concert experience. In Re-Act, they create varied shapes and illustrations projected on the stage as well as on the musicians while they perform. These projections as well as other quasi-theatrical elements create organic passages between the works.

They have collaborated with Haukur Tómasson who has adapted his work Reaction for the duo. In addition, they play Rue Cuvier ou Les Yeux au Ciel by Lisa Streich and Sarah Nemtsov's Soutine: Paysage de Céret, which is inspired by Chaïm Soutine's (1893-1943) paintings. The duo contacted Nemtsov and received her enthusiastic permission to project the paintings onto the musicians while they perform.

They then play Privataufführungen by Johannes Kreidler. The composer is known for his ultra-conceptual works. The program finishes with Mads Emil Dreyer's work Miniature 2, written for them in 2021.
