a lot of ANGELS to consider

Photography - Niklas Ottander

EKKI MINNA’s a lot of ANGELS to consider is a genre-breaking experience that combines dance, multimedia and electronics framed by an art-pop aesthetic.

With two of their own works composed in collaboration with Icelandic experimental sound artist Áslaug Magnúsdóttir, they break down the traditional new music concert format and curate innovative transitions between the programme's works: Andrew's expressive C minor soliloquy on the cello combined with Jónas's improvisational dance connects Loïc Destremau's rhythmic multimedia translations and Mads Emil Dreyer's meditative soundscapes. A brutal dismantling of the accordion leads to Marta Śniady's raw commentary on the modern self-help phenomenon. The concert’s epilogue is Áslaug’s a lot of ANGELS to consider:

“…climaxing with both musicians setting up a continuing unfolding loop, putting on angel wings and dancing in slow-motion around the hall. [...] Opened up by the context, it feels to me as if they melt us all, via choreography, into another plain altogether.”

. For a longer concert format, Christian Winther Christensen’s work Licht tanzt freundlich vor mir (5’) her can be added to the programme.
